Sad viewers remarked on the ‘legacy’ he left behind, with one person writing: “Watching the Hairy Bikers on telly. Seeing Dave Myers riding around the west of the country, living his life to the utmost, with his best friend.
“It’s sad that he’s gone, but this show celebrates the joy of living. That’s a wonderful legacy.”
Another shared: “I’ve just put the telly on. The Hairy Bikers are on.
“And just watching Dave, knowing that he’s gone, even though we don’t know him, & it the circle of life, it’s very sad, really makes you think.”
A third person cried: “Watching BBC and shedding a tear. I lost my dad 2 years ago. He was my rock and best friend. So many people would love what you and Dave had. Be strong.”
